The Mailbox is Upright
Finding our bus after our visit to Kay Hagan's office was a challenge. The pick-up location changed three times so we took the scenic route back (not by choice!) In the very very cold and damp air. We'll know to call the bus driver's cell phone next time to verify location.
Heard that one NC protester was on the bus headed for New Jersey! Pretty sure they found him before they pulled out but at least NJ is friendly to conservatives now and sent multiple busses. Again.
Can't find much in the MSM on the Code Red Rally. To be expected.
Crowd Estimates are 10,000
In Line, Finally Warmed Up
In Line at Senator Hagan's Office
Senator Richard Burr, NC is Speaking and --
Crowds are Gathering
Correction: Over 500 from EASTERN NC -- More from the rest of the state
We watched a 30 minute preview of the Tea Party movie. Extremely well done and motivating. There are only a few people who haven't protested before and while we're all fired up, they're really excited. About half of us were at the 912 March.
We're not going away. But we're going to work hard to make all those who vote 'Yes' on this bill go away in November.

Headed to the Code Red Rally Tuesday
Will blog updates and post photos tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing Laura Ingraham again. She spoke at the Americans for Prosperity summit and was very, very good. Read that Obama has called the entire dem caucus to the White House Tuesday. Let me guess -- likely at 1:30 to avoid the rally and the throngs of angry, determined constituents who will descend upon the Senate office. Again.

Code Red Rally, Tuesday 1:30 p.m. December 15th, U.S. Capitol
Laura Ingraham is supporting the effort, Code Red is her label and I urge everyone to attend AND to wear red to futher emphasize our message. My interpretation of Code Red encompasses several meanings. For hospitals, Code Red means a disaster has occurred and casualties are inbound. Red ink denotes indebtedness. And of course red is a favorite of communists, socialists, and maoists.
The American economy is sustaining mass casualties due to the ineptitude of obama's czars combined with their total lack of private sector experience. Trillions in budget deficits already sustained are projected to multiply exponentially if the twin obamanations of health "reform" and cap-and-trade pass.
The current leftist red assualt is a result of a coordinated effort by individuals who do not believe in the Exceptionalism of America and who actively seek to undermine our very foundations.
As always, Americans for Prosperity will be coordinating busses from surrounding states for the December 15th rally. AFP North Carolina transportation links here. Nationwide links for High Noon for Healthcare Senate Emergency Rally.
I'll be blogging and sending photos and will advise if Senator Hagan manages to avoid her constituents yet again. She ducked out October 2nd when the AFP NC group visited her Dirksen office; then again November 5th when tens of thousands answered Michele Bachmann's Call to the Capitol. Third time is charm. I prefer three strikes and she's out...

Security Incident Aboard AirTran Flight 297 Suggests Terror “Dry Run”
“Planned and choreographed” incident similar to USAir Flight 300."
By Doug Hagmann Thursday, December 3, 2009, CanadaFreePress.com
On November 17, an incident took place aboard AirTran Flight 297 scheduled to fly from Atlanta Hartsfield Airport to Houston that the media does not want to cover and everyone from the airline to the TSA and other government agencies want to keep very quiet.
The reasons, I have been told, is fear of predatory lawsuits, negative publicity from accusations of religious profiling, and the obligatory subjugation to mindless mandatory Muslim sensitivity training that make a mockery of our American system of values. Interestingly, one airline official told me “we don’t want to become another flight 300,” which is a reference to a very similar scenario that took place aboard US Airways Flight 300 exactly three years ago.
I was first contacted about this incident two days after it happened by a passenger who was aboard AirTran Flight 297. Based on the allegations made by this passenger, we conducted additional research, interviews and investigation, all of which takes time to insure accuracy, and are now able to release our report of the incident that took place aboard that aircraft. Be prepared to be shocked, angered, and perhaps saddened by our national and corporate acquiescence to mafia-type tactics by Islamists who are engaged in a full frontal assault, and laughing about it.

Heinlein's If This Goes On -- and Oathkeepers, Orders We Will Not Obey
Unfortunately, we are even closer to Robert Heinlein's 1940 short story, If This Goes On, (set in 2012) from his Future History series. Heinlein wrote If This Goes On because he was concerned about a right-wing evangelical usurption of the Constitution and envisioned the response that would be required to return freedom to the American people.
It's not quite 2012 and the usurpers of our Constitution are not right wing evangelicals. They are radical leftists, maoists, atheists, socialists, obamaists. Whatever their choice of title -- they are a threat to our Constitution, to our Civil Liberties, and to the continued existence of our Nation.
Thank God for all those who have sworn to protect and defend our Constitution, from all enemies, foreign and domestic. So chilling when the domestic component is as deadly, or more so, than the foreign.
Thank God for the members of the Oathkeepers. Please support them with your membership, donations, and prayers. Prayers especially, that they will never be called upon to act in response to their oath.
Oathkeepers, Orders We Will Not Obey
1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.
2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people
3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to military tribunal.

Democrat or Republican? or Incumbents Beware!
Suddenly a line of big black cars pulled up beside her. Out of the lead car stepped a tall, grinning man.
"Hi there, little girl, I'm President Obama. What do you have in the basket?" he asked.
"Kittens." little Suzy said.
How old are they? asked Obama.
Suzy replied, "They're so young, their eyes aren't even open yet."
"And what kind of kittens are they?"
"Democrats," answered Suzy with a smile.
Obama was delighted. As soon as he returned to his car, he called his PR chief and told him about the little girl and the kittens.
Recognizing the perfect photo op, the two men agreed that the president should return the next day, and, in front of the assembled media, have the girl talk about her discerning kittens.
So the next day, Suzy was again standing on the sidewalk with her basket of "FREE KITTENS" when another motorcade pulled up, this time followed by vans from ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN.
Cameras and audio equipment were quickly set up, then Obama got out of his limo and walked over to little Suzy.
"Hello, again," he said, "Id love it if you would tell all my friends out there what kind of kittens you're giving away."
"Yes sir," Suzy said. "They're Republicans."
Taken by surprise, the president stammered, "But... but... yesterday, you told me they were DEMOCRATS."
Little Suzy smiled and said, "I know. But today, they have their eyes open."
Vote them ALL out in 2010 if they don't open their eyes (and ears) to the will of the people.

Obama's "Christian" Grandmother in Mecca for Hajj
AP, March 5, 2008: "In the world of today, children have different religions from their parents," she said. She, too, is a Christian. Is she really?
"Saudi Arabia: Obama's grandmother in Mecca for 'Hajj' ceremony," from AKI, November 25 (thanks to C. Cantoni): Mecca, 25 Nov. (AKI) - The grandmother of US president Barack Obama has arrived in Saudi Arabia for the 'Hajj' or Islamic pilgrimage to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, a Saudi daily said on Wednesday. Sarah Obama, 87, is being accompanied by a nephew and Obama's cousin, Omran.
On Wednesday Sarah Obama was in the valley of Mina with an African delegation, according to the Saudi daily Okaz. Obama, the mother of the American president's father, lives in a village in Kenya and is one of the many guests of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud.

ACORN OKLAHOMA Document Dump: The Oklahoma Power Plan
ACORN’s San Diego office isn’t the only place its been careless with sensitive documents. Late last year, ACORN abandoned an office in Oklahoma. In its haste to vacate the office–and skip out on the landlord’s claim of back-rent–ACORN abandoned piles of documents, as well as a computer. ABC News' Jonathan Karl reports:
What does it take to get a wavering senator to vote for health care reform?
Here’s a case study.
On page 432 of the Reid bill, there is a section increasing federal Medicaid subsidies for “certain states recovering from a major disaster.”
The section spends two pages defining which “states” would qualify, saying, among other things, that it would be states that “during the preceding 7 fiscal years” have been declared a “major disaster area.”
I am told the section applies to exactly one state: Louisiana, the home of moderate Democrat Mary Landrieu, who has been playing hard to get on the health care bill.

The Obama Watch -- The Man Who Despises America by Mark Hyman
The Man Who Despises America, By Mark Hyman on 11.11.09 @ 6:09AM
The very next paragraph is going to make the nut jobs on the far left excitable beyond belief. I am not referring to all Democrats or even a majority of liberals. I am singling out the "they've-lost-all-touch-with-reality" crowd. This includes Media Matters for America led by the admitted hit-and-run, drunk-driving serial liar. The group includes the unshaven, bathrobe-clad unemployed who live in their mother's basement and are devout followers of MoveOn.Org. It is also the bitter, aging spinster working at the New York Times, the morbidly obese documentary film maker, and cable TV news' resident drama queen who hosts MSNBC's Countdown. They are about to simultaneously suffer from brain aneurisms. So without further delay, I'll say it.
Barack Obama despises America.
When people who voted for Obama in 2008 -- including registered Democrats -- start speaking in normal conversational voices at dinner parties, neighborhood gatherings and PTA meetings that the over-inflated ego from Chicago has it "in for America," then it's clear most reasonable people have reached the same conclusion.

NEA Recommends Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" as a Teaching Aid
Thursday, November 12, 2009, 12:47 PM, Jim Hoft
Here is part of the NEA’s review of Saul Alinsky’s radical writings:
“Radicals precipitate the social crisis by action – by using power. Liberals may then timidly follow along or else, as in most cases, be swept forward along the course set by Radicals, but all because of forces unloosed by Radical action. They are forced to positive action only in spite of their desires
* “The American Radical will fight privilege and power whether it be inherited or acquired by any small group, whether it be political or financial or organized creed.
* “He curses a caste system which he recognizes despite all patriotic denials
* “He will fight conservatives whether they are business or labor leaders.
* “He will fight any concentration of power hostile to a broad, popular democracy, whether he finds it in financial circles or in politics.
* “The Radical recognizes that constant dissension and conflict is and has been the fire under the boiler of democracy. He firmly believes in that brave saying of a brave people, “Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!”
* “The Radical may resort to the sword but when he does he is not filled with hatred against those individuals whom he attacks. He hates these individuals not as persons but as symbols representing ideas or interests which he believes to be inimical to the welfare of the people.
* “That is the reason why Radicals, although frequently embarking upon revolutions, have rarely resorted to personal terrorism.”
Alinsky practiced what he preached. He said, “Tactics means doing what you can with what you have … tactics is the art of how to take and how to give.” Sounds like just the think you want your local teachers to bring into the classroom, huh?
Unbelievable.
Dare to Call it Terrorism
The FBI will not admit that what happened in Texas is part of the jihad.
So it turns out that the worst Islamist terrorist strike since 9/11 — an attack that killed twice as many Americans as were slain in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing — was not a terrorist attack at all. Just ask the FBI.
The initial hurried reports of thirteen people (including twelve U.S. soldiers) murdered, and dozens of others wounded, were just coming in. A pained Diane Sawyer was wishing aloud that Nidal Malik Hasan were named “Smith.” Her colleagues in what now passes for mainstream journalism were risibly theorizing that post-traumatic stress disorder must have snapped this non-combat Army psychiatrist — one who’d screamed “Allahu akbar!” while mowing down U.S. soldiers about to deploy to a Muslim country for a war he’d made no secret of deploring; one whose only battlefield experience was the massacre he’d just committed against unarmed men and women in a Fort Hood training center.
Then, like the cavalry, the FBI came riding to the PC rescue. The Federal Bureau of Let’s Skip the Investigation pronounced that the killing was not terrorism. Forget about Islamic (or at least Islamist) terrorism. This mass murder wasn’t even terrorism.

The Beginning of the End?
I'm in Tampa, headed for the Packers - Bucs game this afternoon, and am sure the guests in the rooms next to mine could hear me yell, in response to Fox' characterization, "Unconstitutional, socialist, draconian, illegal, unsustainable, idiotic." And more that I can't remember now, I'm so angry.
Tried to contact Cao's (R {?!} - LA) office last night, after his traiterous vote -- that allowed the House "Leadership" to smirkingly note that the Bill was bipartisan -- with one (so-called) republican vote. His voicemail system would not record a message and his email link was conveniently disabled. But Cao's statement asserted that he had received promises from president Obama. Well of course that makes his vote okay. Because we all know Obama keeps his promises. Does not obfuscate. Has the best interests of the Nation at heart. We could see that in his remarks immediately after the Ft. Hood shooting.
We were on the charter bus, on the way home from the Thursday Rally at the Capitol, when it was reported that Obama would address the Nation at 5 p.m. Cut to the president. And we all sat in stunned silence at first, as we heard him banter with the audience at the Indian affairs conference. Then we looked at each other in disbelief at his disconnect.

Nov 5 DC Rally Signs and Crowd Photos (Already on Facebook)
Thursday, November 5, 2009
20,000 to 45,000
We're all tired but fired up again after watching the video of the sea of people at the rally. Lots of cheers as various videos and reports have played throughout the night. Even though we're part of it, it's still amazing that tens of thousands of Americans showed up. Again.
And we're just the tip of the opposition. If you're reading this, then there's a good chance you wanted to be at the Capitol, too. Desperately. Representatives know that and are scared. We still have time. Call them Friday; if you live close to a local office, show up. Hammer it in. Michele Bachmann just said that Pelosi doesn't have the votes.
That's because we're ALL making a difference and we can't stop now.
Hitting the Halls of Congress
Michele Bachmann's vision -- and guts to go against the leadership -- and organize this event... She was (is) fantastic. She addressed the crowd with, "You came!" And we roared. Early estimates for crowd size vary from 18,000 to 100,000. I truly don't know, we were so much closer to the Capitol than we were for the 912 March, I don't have a frame of reference for numbers.
Jon Voight was riveting and focused, as always, on Obama's socialist agenda. Mark Levin reminded us of how far our Nation has moved from Liberty to Tyranny and in only nine months.
We opened with prayer, recited the Pledge of Allegiance and sang our National Anthem. There were chants of "Kill the Bill!", "No, you can't!", and "Nan-cy, Nan-cy" in a low taunting roar, daring her to appear. She didn't, of course.
Nor did most every other Representative, for any state. One North Carolinian reported seeing Senator Hagan in the hall outside her office. Hagan saw her constituents approaching and ducked into a side door. Her young, insincere, clueless, compassionless, we-are-young-and-invincible-and-you-are-old-and-wrong staffers did their normal tone-deaf song-and-dance, all delivered with a smug sanctimonious smirk.
They (all those entrenched in and slaves to power) are arrogant. We are frustrated, energized, resolved... and We the PEOPLE are not going away.
Protester Provisions
A few people forgot lunch or snacks, so they had their choice of goodies because everyone has shared with them. We're having a blast... And we're not even there yet.
Have TV on the bus and Fox News just ran a headline about the Noon Rally. Final announcements now, we are fired up!!!
On I95 Headed North and Reading the Redstate.com Blog
First the rally and press conference then we (165 North Carolinians) are meeting with Senator Burr (R-NC) before descending upon Senator Hagan's (D-NC) office. Again. We expect her to be hiding from her constituents. Again.
She can't hide in 2014. And we'll be happy to help her find her way back home to NC. Right behind all the other pols who'll be going home in 2010.

Media Misreading the Mood
While Gibbs is trying hard to spin the liberal losses as "Not a trend" and "Not a referendum on (President) Obama", voters did make a statement -- take a stand -- against Obama's plan to "Fundamentally remake America." And he did lose political capital and clout last night. Now if Blue Dogs and Moderates and ALL the politicians will choose to interpret the vote correctly, they might have a chance in 2010.
Because We the People WILL: Protest the move toward socialism. Provide support to those who believe in capitalism. Protect our freedoms as delineated in the Constitution. (Note that I don't write, "as 'granted' by the Constitution.")

Americans for Prosperity NC Bus Headed for DC Thursday!
By popular and overwhelming request of NC Patriots, AFP NC has chartered a bus and we're headed north again. I really think there will be more than one, based on numbers from the 912 March and the AFP Defending the Dream Summit. Hope we shut down the Capitol. Wonder how many of our representatives will skip town this time like they did for the Summit? Harder to do since Pelosi is set to demand a vote on Friday.
If you can't make it to DC, then PLEASE consider visiting your representatives' local offices and tell them to vote NO on Pelosi, Reid and Obama's various health care bills.
Houston Tea Party Rally Draws More Than 10,000
I'm headed for Raleigh Thursday, supporting the Americans for Prosperity Congressional House Call effort. Taking a group of five and hoping the crowd will be overwhelming. Since we're grassroots (not astroturf) and not coordinated, compensated, or coereced, we don't know who or how many, will be there.
Would love to head to DC and support Michelle Bachmann's Call to the Capitol. Have contacted the local Tea Party Patriots to see if we have enough interest to charter a bus. Five buses went out for the 912 March, surely we can come up with one bus for Thursday.

Absentee Voter Fraud May Play a Significant Role in New Jersey's Gubernatorial Election
WSJ OPINION: JOHN FUND ON THE TRAIL NOVEMBER 2, 2009, 1:14 P.M. ET.Chris Christie's Next Case: Who Stole My Election?
Absentee voter fraud may play a significant role in New Jersey's gubernatorial election. By JOHN FUND
The race for governor in New Jersey is so close in final polls that it may well end up in a recount -- the 1981 election did and was decided by less than 1,800 votes. If there is a recount, you can bet disputes about absentee ballots will loom large. Moreover, if serious allegations of fraud emerge, you can also expect less-than-vigorous investigation by the Obama Justice Department -- which showed just how seriously it takes such allegations when it walked away from an open-and-shut voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party in Philadelphia earlier this year.
Plenty of reasons exist for suspecting absentee fraud may play a significant role in tomorrow's Garden State contests. Groups associated with Acorn in neighboring Pennsylvania and New York appear to have moved into the state. An independent candidate for mayor in Camden has already leveled charges that voter fraud is occurring in his city. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party in New Jersey is taking advantage of a new loosely written vote-by-mail law to pressure county clerks not to vigorously use signature checks to evaluate the authenticity of absentee ballots, the only verification procedure allowed.

More Thoughts on New York 23
I can't even begin to link to the thousands of posts and tweets that mirror my sentiments. Or communicate the groundswell of enthusiasm, anger, determination... that this is not going to be business-as-usual. This is the first salvo. Ignore us now at your peril in 2010.
Gov Pawlenty (MN) endorsed Hoffman today. You'll see more getting on the bandwagon, but where were they BEFORE it became politically expedient to endorse? Support Hoffman or look like a loser. Try and claim leadership of a grassroots tidal wave and lose even more--
And where is Huckabee, and Romney? Newt is nuts. I appreciate what he did in '94 and the Contract With America, but he needs to focus on being a historian. He belongs in the past. We need new leadership.
And we'll find it on our own. No party is going to corrupt this movement. NY 23 is the catalyst and I think it will be a blowout for Hoffman.
"Can you hear us now?", is not directed to the administration only.
REPUBLICAN Attack Ad Targets CONSERVATIVE Doug Hoffman, NY 23
Excuse me? A vote for Scuzzy is a vote for Owens is a vote for the democrat. There is no difference in ideology or practice. So if conservatives vote values, Newt and Tyler will claim the conservatives gave the election to the democrat. They don't get it. A democrat wins UNLESS voters stand on principle and vote for the conservative.
Even if Hoffman loses (which I don't think will happen), even if he loses, surely the republican leadership will see that if they don't select, endorse, promote conservative candidates, then they can't expect voters to simply check the box next to the candidate with the (R) behind his name.
It won't be "We the People" who cost the election(s). It will be the tone-deaf, entrenched, out-of-touch republican leadership who refuse to acknowledge that the Tea Party movement -- the FISCAL Conservative, personal RESPONSIBILITY, robust national DEFENSE -- that the Tea Party Patriots are fed up with all politicians.
The third-party-can't-win scare tactics have gone on too long. The voters of NY 23 have a unique opportunity to send a message to the entire Nation by voting their values and not the party. NY 23 can be the beginning of real CHANGE.
I know it can happen because I was at the 912 March on the Capitol and it was all ages, all political ideologies, all walks of life, all AMERICANS. Each ready to vote for whomever we believe will restore our Nation to the Constitutional Republic our Founders fought and sacrificed to form.

College Thesis: 'So-Called Founders Didn't Allow for Economic Freedom'
How many reading this can say yes to AT LEAST one of those questions? How many can quote our "So-Called Founders" AND know the context of the quote? Then discuss and defend at great length. I'm willing to bet that many, many more Americans are reading our Constitution today. A document that not only provided a framework of governance, but also anticipated the assaults on our freedom that would inevitably occur. And are upon us now--
How amazing that our Founding Fathers could devise a system of government that can withstand the test of time... and of tyrants.

Obama "Maybe You're Better off Not Having the Surgery and Taking the Pain Killer"
Or to paraphrase the words of his Health Rationer in Chief, Zeke Emanuel, aka Doctor Death... "You have a duty to die."
Obama's Health Rationer in Chief
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, health adviser to President Barack Obama, is under scrutiny. As a bioethicist, he has written extensively about who should get medical care, who should decide, and whose life is worth saving. Dr. Emanuel is part of a school of thought that redefines a physician’s duty, insisting that it includes working for the greater good of society instead of focusing only on a patient’s needs. Many physicians find that view dangerous, and most Americans are likely to agree.
In fact, Dr. Emanuel makes a clear choice: "When implemented, the complete lives system produces a priority curve on which individuals aged roughly 15 and 40 years get the most substantial chance, whereas the youngest and oldest people get changes that are attenuated
Florida Plan Will Bar Some Patients in Event of Severe Flu Pandemic
The plan, which would guide Florida hospitals on how to ration scarce medical care during a severe flu outbreak, also calls for doctors to remove patients with poor prognoses from ventilators to treat those who have better chances of surviving. That decision would be made by the hospital.
In many states, public and advocacy input has been largely absent. Groups of doctors, lawyers and ethicists have hammered out the plans with little engagement with the public or with groups that represent children, the elderly and those with chronic illnesses or disabilities.

White House admits: We 'control' news media
TEL AVIV – President Obama's presidential campaign focused on "making" the news media cover certain issues while rarely communicating anything to the press unless it was "controlled," White House Communications Director Anita Dunn disclosed to the Dominican government at a videotaped conference.
"Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," said Dunn. Complete coverage here.

Thousands Gather in SAN FRANCISCO to Protest Obama
House Panel Paves Way for 'Nuclear Option' in Health Care Reform Bill
The Ways and Means Committee adjusted its health care overhaul package so that the Senate, down the road, could avoid a filibuster and pass health care reform with a smaller number of votes than normally required.
The long-discussed process, nicknamed the "nuclear option," is known as reconciliation. It's coming into potential play after the Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday became the last of five committees to approve health care reform legislation, sending the overhaul proposals a big step closer to the president's desk. Before it gets there, though, the bill has to pass from the committees to the floors of the House and Senate.

"Seize the Day" Fund, a George Soros Initiative
•advance the most challenging issues—including mass incarceration, immigration, drug policy, and structural inequality—as part of a transformative national agenda;
•ensure transparency, accountability, and equity in the development and implementation of economic recovery plans;
•increase public participation in policy reform efforts by those most impacted, including people of color, immigrant, and low-income communities; and
•integrate recent innovations in organizing and technology into more organizations and movements. END EXCERPT
Unfortunately for them, organizations like Americans for Prosperity are helping grassroots Americans (not astroturf) learn to use technology and social media to spread our message. And unlike Soros Foundation workers, there's no such thing as a paid volunteer if you're referring to a conservative.
Let's see... Paid or Patriot. Who will have the staying power?

Americans for Prosperity Tribute to Ronald Reagan Dinner
And I almost forgot the Job Fair that ran concurrent with a pre-dinner reception. I made the rounds for all the organizations present, profit, non-profit, and not-for-profit. My marketing experience, eMedia skills and long, passionate love of (and participation in) politics made the job fair a major draw of the summit. Now I just need time to get my ePortfolio republished on one of my business sites. I'd love to find a local candidate to support. We truly do need to oust all the incumbents.
I'm used to traveling very light for business and I was totally disgusted that I had to take FIVE outfits for a three-day event. Casual for Thursday's reception, business casual for Friday's early events. Business formal for the job fair and dinner. Business casual for Saturday's annual meeting and training, then back to jeans (thank God!) for the seven-hour drive home. I can hit the west coast for three days with less of a wardrobe than what I took for the Defending the Dream Summit!
Back to the dinner. Once again, we managed to find a table of North Carolinians in a sea of almost one thousand diners. The chicken (what else?) was actually delicious and served hot.
And the speakers were fantastic: Congressman Mike Pence is energetic, enthusiastic, and emulates speech patterns beautifully. His description of meeting President Reagan was enhanced by his almost-perfect Reagan voice and mannerisms. (He does an endearing George W., too.)
Laura Ingraham also spoke and she was even better in person than on radio and O'Reilly. While Laura was happy to be at the Summit, she was a bit disappointed that she missed her usual Friday night guest-host for The Factor. Especially given that Chicago had been eliminated earlier in the day, in round one of voting, for hosting the Olympics.
The Dinner ended at 9:30 and we had the choice of staying for a film screening of Not Evil, Just Wrong, with a brief introduction by Producer/Director Phelim McAleer or heading out with other North Carolinians for a night tour of The Capitol, arranged by our State Director, Dallas Woodhouse. We chose the night tour.
We didn't have time to change clothes, and there was a light rain when we began the tour that turned to a steady downpour for part of the outing. Even though I've been to the District many times, I'm still in awe of the monuments and majesty of the setting. I should rephrase that: I'm in awe of the majesty of the character of the Founding Fathers, represented by the larger-than-life monuments.
The Jefferson Memorial is the most beautiful. Washington Monument the most interesting for history.
The Lincoln Memorial is the most impressive, inspiring, humbling... You might be able to tell why I was out in the rain, in my business suit, in heels, heading up the many steps of the Lincoln Memorial, after dark and on marble. I did exercise at least some common sense in that I took off my heels and carried them when I got to the top and after a warning from another visitor that the marble was extremely slick.
It was raining too hard to stop at the Jefferson Memorial, but we did circle the Capitol on the way back to our hotel. My Blackberry battery had died, so no photos there. Will add photos from my sister's phone in the next few days.
Our next stop was Lafayette Park where our guide fully expected everyone to get off the bus for at least a few minutes since the rain had stopped. The view of the White House would have been perfect.
He was surprised when the bus door opened. And no one moved. While some may attribute it to the extremely long and active day, I think I summed our mood perfectly when, after our guide's second invitation to "Get off and experience the view of the White House", I answered... "In 2012!" to a rousing response of laughter and cheers.
Really, anytime after November 6, 2012 will do. I think I'll plan on another trip to The Capitol for the next Inauguration.

Americans for Prosperity Defending the Dream Summit
The Summit was exceptionally well-organized, and, like the 912 March on the Capitol, the attendees were happy, polite, motivated, polite... no angry mobs, racists, or Nazis in sight.
912 March on the Capitol, 1.5 MILLION!!!
It wasn't organized by party or ideology, everyone, every age, was represented. I did not see one "Fringe Radical", of any persuasion, supportive or combative. The overwhelming sentiment was a determination to return our Nation to its constitutional framework, as so beautifully devised by our Founders.
For logistics, we got to Belk's parking lot at 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Five full buses, seven hours each way. Got back 24 hours later.
We were supposed to rally at the Freedom Plaza, 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, and start the march at 11:30. But there was not enough room for everyone to stage. Understatement.
We started down Pennsylvania Avenue at 9:30 as soon as we got there from where the buses let us off at the Washington Monument (about a 30-minute walk). From Freedom Plaza, it took almost three hours to get to the Capitol, there were that many people.
Not all attendees marched. The marchers filled in the front, people who just showed up for the event, filled in on the mall.
Early on, CNN was reporting only 600 people. Park service and ABC reporting during the event, that there were between 1.5 million and 2 million.
More realistic would be 900,000+. Click here for how photographers and videographers estimated size. Makes sense, at 4,200 people passing each minute, based on the fact that it took us almost three hours to move from Freedom Plaza to the Capitol and we were in the front of the march with the majority behind us.
The marchers loved a version of The Wave... The Roar, that began at the back of the march and moved forward, overtaking us with sound. And we sang patriotic songs over and over, with chants of USA, USA. We were such an unruly, angry, racist, nasty mob. Not.
We never saw one Porta Potty. Park police told one of our group members that they were prepared for 5,000 people.
We were in the front because North Carolina marched fourth in line. Groups had state flags and colored banners for each bus/group to keep everyone together. Talked to people (most in large GROUPS) from:
New Mexico, California, Arizona, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida, South Carolina, Maryland, New York, Virginia, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia. That was just my experience; I'd bet that every state was represented.
Check out this time lapse video.

Americans for Prosperity Defending the Dream Summit, October 2nd, DC.
I hope to go to the summit and everything else I (we, Jason couldn't go this time) can support.
So far, I'm exhausted today, but not any sicker. My weird-looking seat in the photo is a cane that converts to a sling seat and then you balance (Ha! me, balance) and it was a lifesaver -- to keep me from stumbling around -- and for resting.
My Internist told me not to go, I've been so sick the last month. But some things take precedent. This was one.
Feel free to share this, Share buttons for all social media in the far right column. And please research your local 912 events to see how your community participated, this was bigger than just DC. Fox News reported that the Texas 912 March expected 5,000 and had 20,000. In the rain.
Glenn Beck at 5 EDT for next steps. I tuned in March 13 when he launched the 912 Project. So glad I made it to DC.
But we're not done yet... 912 Project. Unite or Die.
